Police nab four suspected armed robbers, recover guns

The police in Enugu have arrested four suspected armed robbers and recovered one locally-made gun and a plastic fabricated gun from them.

Also recovered were a Toyota bus and two power generating sets, among other valuables, from the suspects.

The Enugu State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Ebere Amaraizu, made this known in a statement on Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria quoted him as saying that the suspects were arrested at 2am on Saturday.

Amaraizu explained that the police arrested them at a suspected criminal hideout at Gariki, Ugwuoba axis of Oji River Council area.

Amaraizu said the suspects were currently helping police operatives in their investigations in relation to their activities of car theft and armed robbery.

NAN reported that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Danmallam, had directed his men and officers to intensify intelligence gathering and raid of suspected criminal hideouts in the state.--NAN
