Hours after merrymaking, six persons, comprising four staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and a little child of one of the passengers perished in a terrible accident on Sunday.

The victims, were said to be returning from a wedding ceremony of one of the INEC staff, when their vehicle ran into the back of a moving trailer along Lokoja-Ajaokuta highway Saturday evening.

Only one of the passenger was said to have survived the accident, while the rest, including the three-year daughter of one of the INEC staff, who travelled with the mother to Ayamgba, where the wedding reportedly took place, reportedly died on the spot.

Head of the Department of Voter Education, Ahmed Biambo, who confirmed the incident, said remains of the deceased had since been deposited at Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja mortuary, adding that victims were returning from the wedding of Ibrahim Yahaya of the ICT department of the commission.
