Mbaka
Spiritual Leader of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, has finally dismounted his high-horse position and offered a public apology to former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, who he virulently vilified, for not openly announcing a donation at bazaar in his Adoration ground, in Emene, Enugu State, last Sunday.
The posture of the fiery cleric, appears to have changed from rationalising his action, where he told his congregation that Obi should not have come to the bazaar if he wanted to make a secret donation, because giving at such events were usually made open, to eating the humble pie of making a public apology.
In another video, which has again gone viral, Mbaka, who was seen clutching a baby, as he made the public apology, said he never intended at any time to embarrass the former governor, who is now the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for next year’s election.
His words: “Some of you may be expecting me to write something and put it online or join the attacking group or the defensive group. It’s not my job. I don’t have time to waste. I’m not even a priest of social media. It may surprise you to hear that I don’t even have a personal Facebook. So, all these things I’m hearing, I don’t even know about them.
“Meanwhile, on behalf of myself, Rev Fr Mbaka Ejike Camillus, the servant and spiritual director of this Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, I wish to apologise humbly to former governor Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi who came here on Sunday for Bazaar.
"In any way, shape or form, my utterances and actions on that Bazaar induced, initiated or prompted derogatory remarks, criticisms, unhealthy attacks to his personality, I don't intend any of these. All I said on that day, I never meant to insult him nor to bring his political career down.
“My intention is simply to support the work of God. If my actions exhibited demeanour or any unhealthy attitude that provoked even himself and those who love him that brought about these verbal attacks, I am asking whoever was, is, or will be hurt to please, please and please forgive me.
"Henceforth, I will equally encourage you adorers to keep focused on Christ whom we worship here and I will ask you to seize fire; stop fighting back..."
Mbaka, had hinged his action on the humility of Jesus Christ as different from the pride of the Satan, urged those who usually came to his programme for other purposes outside worshipping God to stop coming in order not to incur the wrath of God. --Whirlwind
