Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, Sunday, flagged off the Adumu-Ogugu erosion control project in Ogugu just as he inspected some road construction projects initiated by his administration as part of programmes lined up for his reelection campaign tour.

This is coming less than two weeks before the state governorship election slated for November 16.

According to the contractor handling the erosion control project, work is expected to be completed in 12 months.

The Governor also inspected the 95% completed Ibana-Okpo-Ikeje-Emonyoku-Odidoko-Agugu-Ette Road in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Work on the road project which cuts across seven communities in the area is at the completion stage.

While inspecting the road, Bello expressed joy for the quality of job done so far and noted that the project would be completed within the contractual agreement period.

Speaking on behalf of the community, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Edward Onoja thanked the governor for his developmental stride in Kogi State in general and Kogi East in particular.

He assured that the people of the areas will observe the principle of reciprocity in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
