The latest COVID-19 Situation Report from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed that Kogi State is the worst-performing state in terms of testing since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

According to the report, out of 543,415 samples tested nationwide since the pandemic, Kogi State has only tested 250 samples till date.

Whereas states like Lagos, FCT, Kano, Rivers, Plateau, and Oyo, have tested 138,524; 63,896; 46,967; 34,021; 31,777; and 22,259 samples respectively.

More interesting is the fact that the last time Kogi State tested any COVID-19 sample was in July, this year (95 days ago). With only five confirmed cases and two recorded deaths so far.

In percentage, compared to the total tests carried out across the country, Kogi State has only contributed 0.046 per cent.

Joining ranks with Kogi are Yobe and Gombe states with only 857 and 867 tests conducted respectively since the onset of the outbreak.
